Otis Wilcox

Software engineer at JPMorganChase

hi, I'm otis.

I'm a front-end engineer, a huge nerd, and still always learning. I picked up code at the DigitalCrafts bootcamp in 2021, started at First Street that September, and spent the next four and a half years helping build Risk Factor, the site that shows people the flood, fire, and heat risk to their homes.

Since January I've been a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase in Atlanta.

When I'm not coding I'm playing (too many) video games, working out, or making the occasional video, like the week I spent in VRChat. Always looking to collab, so say hi.

02Projects

Built with my teammates at DigitalCrafts in 2021, back when all of this was new to me.

Mouse Guide

Pick one of four Disney parks and build an itinerary of activities, lodging, and dining, then trim it as plans change. I seeded the database for every park's options, ran the GitHub repo, and handled HTML and CSS throughout.

JavaScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL

Mouse Guide: building a park itinerary

PokéSpace

A MySpace-style take on the Pokédex: search any Pokémon and get the details that matter for gameplay. I got a Game Boy Advance emulator running in the browser, built the About page, and did much of the HTML and CSS.

JavaScript, Bulma

PokéSpace: searching for a Pokémon

Spelling Nemesis

An RPG where your grasp of English has been shattered, and you have to relearn a few key letters to survive. I designed and implemented the sound, made graphics, and wired up the game's flow.
